Tapas-style food created with passion. Meet Platters and Pinchos

13th October 2020

Despite it being incredibly difficult times for anyone in the wedding industry at the moment, here at Fabulous Together we are still so passionate about our niche area, that we are delighted when new suppliers join us!

One such new kid on the block is Platters and Pinchos; a gorgeous new offering right here in the North West. Platters and Pinchos in the brainchild of Rachel Peabody and I had the great pleasure of sampling some of her wares a few weeks ago. I was so delighted that I grabbed Rachel (not literally) and asked for a bit more info to share with you lovely lot.

So here goes:

What is Platters and Pinchos?

Platters & Pinchos offer elegantly created platters, grazing tables and boxes that are bursting with delicious savoury and sweet flavours. Pinchos are individual portions (tapas style) which are incorporated into these creations.

Where did the idea come from?

The original idea was to provide grazing tables and platters for both social and corporate events, but during ‘lockdown’ I had the time to think and review the business model and look at the services that I wanted to offer. Something was missing. My passion has always been food and I love nothing more than being in a European city grazing and watching the world go by. So, I decided to marry the two together and created ‘Platters & Pinchos.’ It’s definitely a marriage made in heaven!

What services do you offer?

I provide platters, grazing tables and grazing boxes from 2 people and upwards. I tend not to work to a specific menu for the grazing tables, I prefer to talk to the Bride & Groom and gauge what they would like and try to build on that. I love a challenge.

Tell me about you…

I’m Rachel Peabody, a mother of two young ones, living in Bramhall. I’m originally from Lancashire and moved here when I met my husband 15 years ago. My passion is food and hospitality. I can bore people for hours about it!

Is there anyone else involved with the venture?

This business definitely isn’t run single handed. Fortunately, I have a family of keen helpers, the husband and two children. The husband has some fantastic ideas and both children love nothing more than watching Mummy create new dishes in the kitchen.

What is your background?

I grew up in hospitality, my parents owned hotels & pubs, so it’s always been in my blood. I lived in the US for several years, firstly working for Starwood hotels, then moved onto managing teams that put together very high-profile events. When I returned back to the UK, I continued to work for US companies, but after the children were born, the travel just became too difficult. So, I decided to take some time off to be with the family. Now I’m back doing what I love the most, being in the kitchen and seeing the products that I’ve created being enjoyed by many. My happy place is in the kitchen and entertaining.

Ideas…

Rachel and I had a chat about how Platters and Pinchos will fit into our fabulous wedding world and came up with a few ideas…

Pre-wedding night – for luxurious ladies’ soirees. Why not treat all your girlies to a sophisticated platters, pinchos and prosecco party! I’m sure the boxes would go just as well with a cocktail too 🙂

The boxes are certainly not limited to the girls though. I’m pretty confident Rachel could knock together some very masculine munchies too – lots of cheese, olives, meat and beers, what more could you want!

On the Wedding day itself a grazing table would make a fantastic addition to the evening party and they could even work nicely during the afternoon drinks reception.

The platters could make a bountiful brunch option for any wedding guests staying over or the grazing table idea again for an Mediterranean-style garden party or even to accompany a BBQ for a larger affair.

Perhaps you’re planning a tipi wedding with an onsite glamping village? The grazing boxes would be perfect!

So if like me you’ve read this and are now salivating over all the gorgeous photos and you think that any of these options may work for your wedding or a special occasion then you can find all of Rachel’s contact details below.
