Top Five Iconic Brides

29th November 2017

With the huge buzz at present over the latest royal engagement, it got us thinking about our favourite historical brides. We all love a celebrity wedding and there have been soooo many beautiful brides including Miranda Kerr, Pippa Middleton, Amal Clooney, Michelle Keegan and Kim Kardashian West. But we can never forget the great iconic brides… here are our top 5 blushing brides from history.

Grace Kelly, The Princess of Monaco

On 18th April 1956, Grace Kelly, voted one of the most beautiful women in history gave up her acting career at the age of 26 and didn’t she look stunning!

Marilyn Monroe

The one and only! She is the ultimate pin-up girl, oozing with charisma and presence that commands the room. On Marilyn’s big day, she took centre stage as usual in her chic, understated black dress. The marriage may have been short-lived but the style lives on.

Princess Diana

Us Brits can’t get enough of royal weddings and Diana was a transcendent icon in every aspect – not just as a royal bride. On Diana’s big day, she wore the showstopping Emanuel dress with a 25ft long train and 10,000 pearls to embellish it! Bold and beautiful!

Audrey Hepburn

Audrey is one of our style idols. We love all things 50s and Audrey is the epitome of 50s fashion. Her structured tea dress was a feminine but fashion forward choice for her wedding day. So elegant!

Kate Middleton

No discussion of iconic brides is complete without our lovely Duchess of Cambridge who glided down the aisle with her Grace Kelly-esque glamour and pure royal elegance. Her Alexander McQueen dress is definitely one of our favourites – I’m sure you’ll agree!

Now the next question is… what will we see Meghan Markle wearing in May? Written by Harpers Bazaar and according to ‘People’ when speaking about her character’s wedding gown during a press interview for Suits; she stated “classic and simple is the name of the game, perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic”

Can’t wait for the big reveal!
