Kate & John
Adlington Hall, Cheshire
A stately festive feast with a wintery rustic charm was the theme Kate and John had envisaged for their special day. The charming Adlington Hall played host. Things began with a beautifully personal humanist ceremony which allowed the couple to join their existing families as one. The splendour of the Medieval Great Hall was a fitting backdrop to the incredibly intimate occasion. A surprise live rendition of ‘All you need is love’ as the couple walked down the aisle delighted guests, as previously hidden musicians popped up from balconies and alcoves.
Guests were treated to warm winter punch and Aperol Spritz whilst they listened to the soothing sounds of a jazz trio in the stately dining room before heading over to the fairy lit Hunting Lodge for dinner and dancing. With the rousing sound of the bagpipes in the background, the guests formed a sparkler tunnel to lead the newly married couple through the dark night to the lodge, which was decorated with wintery logs, bare branch trees and homemade candle jars.
A relaxed, informal feast awaited everyone with world food stalls expertly catering for all tastes. Guests were encouraged to sit where they liked and mingle as they helped themselves to a variety of culinary delights. There was no standing on ceremony for this couple, a few words of thanks before they cut the gorgeous rustic cake then straight into the first dance.
Dominic and his band really got the party started with a range of rock and roll hits and the dance floor remained full all night. A truly special day for a truly special couple.
