Antonia & Matthew
Private Marquee, Shropshire
Based in London, living extremely busy lives, Antonia and Matthew wanted their wedding day to be a relaxed, personal affair at Antonia’s stunning family home in the beautiful Shropshire countryside.
As an interior designer with a passion for antiques Antonia had a clear vision for how the day should be styled. A traditional pole marquee was key to creating the desired look.
The tables were to be simply yet elegantly adorned with large vases of English Country garden flowers side by side with antique candelabras. The bridesmaids, looking beautiful in blush, has dresses adorned with vintage jewels. They travelled to and from Church in a vintage Beauford and the centrepiece of the marquee was an antique fireplace fabulously dressed with vintage jardinières expertly planted by the mother of the bride.
All of the outside spaces looked resplendent due to some serious hard work on the part of Jill, the green fingered mother of the bride.
Antonia and Matthew’s love of the theatre also made an appearance via the table stationery.
The personal touch was very important to the bride and groom so using all of the available space at the magnificent Old Rectory enabled them to create a very interesting day for their guests. Following the Church ceremony guests were treated to a classic champagne reception on the front lawn. The soothing sounds of the harp floating amongst guests as they ate delicious fresh canapes.
A three-course gastronomical delight was served as guests sat down in the marquee. This was followed by three amazing speeches.
Just as guests thought they had seen everything the Master of Ceremonies directed everyone though through to the evening party room in the Old Rectory complete with bar, hanging wall lanterns, a black and white dance floor and built in stage.
A perfect intimate setting for guests to enjoy the jazz band that would take them through to the end of the evening. As guests filtered outside to enjoy the balmy spring evening they were able to enjoy a fabulous hog roast washed down with a nice cool glass of Hampshire beer that the groom had specifically sourced from his home town.
All in all this was a beautiful elegant and personal wedding, perfectly fitting for such a lovely couple. We wish Antonia and Matthew a lifetime of happiness together.
